LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - The newly renovated David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium opens this weekend when the Kansas Jayhawks host the Fresno State Bulldogs.

Ahead of the opening game, KU hosted members of the media for a tour of the new facilities on Tuesday.

“It’s a really tangible indication of how far the program has come,” said KU Athletic Director Travis Goff. “This is a University-wide commitment not just to athletics, but to a level of excellence that I’m not sure you can otherwise bring to life.”

The stadium renovations displaced the Jayhawks to play home games at Children’s Mercy Park and Arrowhead Stadium last season. Now, with a new-look west and north ends of the stadium -- as well as a new video board on the south end zone -- the Jayhawks are back in Lawrence.
