COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - President Donald Trump announced on social media that he was planning to start the process of getting rid of mail-in voting.

“You can never have a real democracy with mail-in ballots, and we, as a Republican Party, are going to do everything possible that we get rid of mail-in ballots,” President Trump said during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy when asked about his post.

He said he is drafting an executive order to do so. But political science professor Dr. Elsa Dias from Pikes Peak State College said this move will likely face legal challenges.

“This is an executive overreach,” Dr. Dias said, because the elections, we tend to look at those as particularly something that the states control."
