LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- It may look like just new light poles, but to Las Vegas safety advocates it’s a sign that hundreds of pedestrians didn’t die on Boulder Highway in vain.

The city of Henderson marked the 1-year milestone for Reimagine Boulder Highway, a nearly $200 million project, with new and upgraded safety improvements for the historically deadly road.

In 2024, Erin Breen told 8 News Now that more needed to change with Boulder Highway after two people were killed in a crash. But now, a year later, she said there’s a sign that many more won’t die needlessly.

“Henderson took the bull by the horns, went after funding, got all their grant money lined up, so they did an incredibly great job of kicking off the Reimagine Boulder Highway project,” she said.
