The student serving as Texas Tech's Masked Rider has been released from the hospital and is recovering after a riding accident involving the university's mascot horse Friday evening during an event on campus.
A Texas Tech spokesperson on Monday confirmed the Masked Rider — Rose Rosas — was released from the hospital late Friday is continuing to recover from light injuries following the accident Friday evening.
The university's horse mascot, Centennial Champion, is still set to run and participate as is tradition in Tech's first home football game of the season set for Aug. 30 at Jones AT&T Stadium, the spokesperson confirmed.
