A 99-year-old woman died after she was burnt by a cup of tea she was drinking, an inquest has heard.
Margaret Eluned Roberts, who was registered blind, was scalded by the hot black tea she was drinking at her care home in Anglesey on September 22, 2024, after it spilled onto her, a hearing was told.
It was said the burn contributed to Mrs Roberts developing a chest infection, however, the senior coroner concluded the 99-year-old's death, which occurred around five weeks after she was burned, was accidental.
Kate Robertson, the senior coroner for north west Wales determined Mrs Roberts had died from pneumonia and cellulitis secondary to a burn, with old age, asthma and ischaemic heart disease as contributory factors.
