Brits who own a number of popular models have been told to stop driving immediately.

'Stop drive' notices have been issued in relation to certain Citroen and DS models due to a serious fault with the airbag system.

The rare stop drive notices are only issued when there is a serious problem that needs fixing, which could potentially put lives at risk.

The affected models are:

Second-generation Citroën C3 manufactured between 2009 and 2016

Citroën DS 3 manufactured between 2009 and 2016
