A blood center is asking for donations after declaring a blood emergency in Minnesota because of a shortage. MPR News reports “Memorial Blood Centers says the state’s blood supply has dropped below a two-day inventory. A seven-day supply is needed to meet the demands of hospitals and patients. Memorial Blood Centers is asking for donations of all blood types, but the shortage is especially severe for types O negative and O positive.”
