Northern Michigan could glimpse the northern lights tonight, according to NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC) forecast.
The view line on SWPC's dashboard map shows up to nine states could see the northern lights, or aurora borealis, Wednesday night, Aug. 20. Michiganders as far south as Cadillac, Manistee and West Branch may be able to see the shimmering lights in the night sky to the north, NOAA says. The lights could be overhead for people in the Upper Peninsula.
