Michigan's Great Lakes pose threats for swimmers and boaters on Wednesday, Aug. 20, as officials issue small craft advisories and high swim risks.
"Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions ," the National Weather Service said. "Strong currents can pull swimmers into deeper water and high waves can sweep people off piers."
In Lake Michigan , hazards are in place stretching from Manistee County to Berrien County. Waves are forecast to range from 1 to 5 feet high with rip currents expected to be strong. These hazards will be in place until the evening of Aug. 20.
