Police in three states are continuing to search for a suspect believed to be armed who struck and dragged a Massachusetts State Police trooper and then led authorities on a pursuit at speeds over 100 mph before escaping into Connecticut.

Massachusetts State Police said they attempted to stop a black Audi with a temporary Vermont registration in its window shortly after 10 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate 91 near Exit 15 in Holyoke.

The driver was the suspect of a "be on the lookout" from police in Vermont, who believed the individual was armed with a rifle and body armor.
