BOISE, Idaho — Idaho is providing further information on how to qualify for the recently passed school choice tax credit bill ahead of the next school year.

The "Idaho Parental Choice Tax Credit," or House Bill 93 , was signed into law by Idaho Gov. Brad Little on Feb. 27, 2025. Under HB93, families would receive up to $5,000 per student for eligible education expenses, including private school tuition. That number jumps to $7,500 for students with disabilities.

For Idaho families wondering if they can qualify for the tax credit, the Idaho State Tax Commission said Tuesday that it has added frequently asked questions (FAQs) to its website , "including examples of expenses that might qualify, a program timeline, and clarification that only full-time Idaho residents are eligible."
