Family’s heartbreaking appeal after son dies suddenly on holiday in France

The devastated family of a young man from Lancashire who died suddenly while on holiday in France have launched an appeal to bring his body home. Liam Wardle, from Pilling, had lived with cerebral palsy since birth and was described as “always happy, smiley and never letting life get him down”.

He had endured countless medical appointments and operations yet remained a beacon of resilience, with what friends called “a smile that could light the room”. Tragically, while on what was meant to be a joyful return trip abroad with family and friends, Liam fell critically ill.
