MONROE, N.C. (WBTV) - Two people were arrested following a multi-county police chase that ended in Matthews.

Monroe police said an officer tried to stop a Dodge Charger that had a fake license plate around 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16.

The driver allegedly refused to stop and instead sped off. The charger was said to have crashed into another car and continued speeding. No serious injuries were reported.

The chase continued into Indian Trail before finally ending in Matthews, according to police.

Later, officers determined the car was stolen and both the driver (Ka’Nautica Todd) and passenger (Asiah Clyde) had outstanding warrants.

Todd was charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony flee to elude arrest, felony hit and run, and driving while license revoked.
