Carriage Horses
To The Editor:
While the owners of the many horses that pull carriages around Central Park and elsewhere here in our very crowded, traffic congested city, do take very good care of their animals, New York City is not the place for this type of industry. Over the years, there have been instances of collisions between horses and vehicles on our city streets, resulting in injuries, and sometimes fatalities to these beautiful animals. There is far too much traffic, which clogs our city’s streets every day, and this is certainly not a conducive environment for horse-drawn carriages to be in at all.
