Happy Wednesday! Today will be warm and muggy. Scattered showers are likely this afternoon. Some showers could bring heavy rain, thunder, and lightning. Highs will bump into the lower 90s and upper 80s. Hefty humidity levels will equal high heat index levels around the triple digits. Drink lots of water and use heat safety precautions.

Scattered showers are possible on Thursday and throughout the weekend, but I do not expect washout conditions.

A cooling trend is expected to begin next week. Starting Sunday, you will notice a decrease in humidity, and then temperatures will begin to drop, with highs in the lower 80s and even the upper 70s. Drier conditions will also be the trend heading into next week.
