COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - The federal trial of a former South Carolina state lawmaker has been pushed back to October.

Jury selection for RJ May was originally set to begin in September, but was moved to a tentative date of Oct. 8 during a hearing on Wednesday. The trial would begin the following day.

May, a Republican who represented the Lexington area, was indicted on 10 federal counts of distributing child sexual abuse material. He tendered his resignation from the South Carolina House of Representatives on Aug. 7, nearly two months after his arrest and suspension from the chamber.
