SOLON, Ohio -- Community members packed a school bus with essential supplies at Bicentennial Park during Solon Schools’ inaugural Tools for School drive .
The donation event turned the back-to-school season into a show of generosity and support for local families.
The event, held Aug. 13 during the Solon Farmers Market, exceeded expectations, according to Solon Schools Director of Communications Tamara Strom.
“The event was amazing,” Strom said. “We continually unloaded the bus over the three hours.
“We ultimately sorted all of the supplies the next day. Two student volunteers from Solon Middle School -- Luke Kamath and Kenzie Sullivan -- were particularly helpful in sorting.”
