SILVER SPRINGS, Nev. (KOLO) - A welfare check in Silver Springs resulted in the arrest of a woman on child endangerment, as well as the arrest of a registered sex offender.
On Tuesday, deputies with the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2500 block of Tonopah Street in Silver Springs for a welfare check involving missing juveniles living in poor conditions.
When they arrived, deputies made contact with 44-year-old Leigha Griffiths of Silver Springs, who allowed police to enter the residence. Police say that once inside, they found piles of dirty clothes, rotting food, dirty dishes, and animal feces. They say they also found drug paraphernalia in the bathroom.
