GAINESVILLE — Welcome to the 2025 high school football season.

Expectations and anticipation are high for teams across North-Central Florida, from Lafayette in the northwest to Interlachen in the southeast and every school in between. In the bigger classes, you have Buchholz and the Bobcats' quest to reach a fifth straight state semifinal. Can the 'Cats finally get over the hump?

In the Rural Class, you have Hawthorne and Cornelius Ingram's massive quest to reach a sixth straight state title game, and reclaim the glory lost last season to Madison County.

Then there's Eastside, Newberry, Bradford and Columbia, all seeking deep playoff runs after appearances last season.

All in all, it will be a phenomenal season.
