While one of its high-profile professors faces controversy for overseeing a London research lab that induced heart attacks in dogs, the University of Windsor says it does not conduct canine experiments.
The university told the Star that Lisa Porter’s research in Windsor, focused primarily on fighting cancer, never involved dogs.
UWindsor said in a statement that it engages in “limited animal research” involving only fish and rodents, stating that the use of animals for scientific advancement “remains essential.”
