The fire affected Veolia's transfer station in Worksop

Nottinghamshire bin lorries have been diverting after a major fire broke out at a recycling centre. Lorries that would have taken waste to the site have had to be sent elsewhere following the incident, which appears to have caused significant damage.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue says it is likely to be at the scene of the Worksop fire until Thursday (August 21). The fire broke out at around 2am on Wednesday (August 20) and crews spent most of the day tackling the fire before dampening it down and carrying out clear-up work.
