The first residents are moving into part of a huge new Nottinghamshire housing estate where they will not have to pay energy bills for years.
Dozens of new homes that are being built next to Boots' headquarters in Beeston will not have to pay energy bills for five to ten years, as part of a partnership between housing association Platform Housing Group and Octopus Energy .
Platform Housing Group, which started to build 319 homes on land off Thane Road in early 2024, will put 82 of these new properties at its Trentside development onto Octopus’ ‘Zero Bills’ tariff .
