Hulking parts of Nottingham's new River Trent bridge have been moved into the city under police escort ahead of the mammoth task of assembling it. Two huge sections of the city's new walking and cycling bridge , which will link Trent Basin near Colwick and Lady Bay , were moved to the riverside on Wednesday, August 20.

The large, white structures were transported by two trucks under police escort after being painted in a specialist paint yard. A Nottingham City Council spokesperson said: "Earlier today, sections of Nottingham's brand new walking and cycling bridge arrived back in the city under police escort.
