HUNTINGBURG — The Huntingburg Police Department has announced the addition of a new K-9 officer to its force. Officer Cody Shinn has been partnered with KAOS, a two-year-old Belgian Malinois from Hungary.

Officer Shinn and KAOS recently completed a rigorous six-week training program, where KAOS received specialized instruction in several areas, including tracking, patrol, and drug detection. The duo began their patrol duties last week.

KAOS is now a full-time member of the Huntingburg Police Department, working alongside Officer Shinn to enhance the department’s capabilities and serve the community.

This essential addition to the department would not have been possible without the generous donation of a community member, who entirely covered the cost of the dog and training. Official
