MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Fall semester classes are underway at West Virginia University.
Classes began Wednesday morning.
The freshmen class is expected to end up around 4,500 students.
Freshman Maria Burnell, who came to Morgantown from Youngstown, Ohio, said she’s looking forward to meeting new people.
“I didn’t have a great time in my hometown so I’m excited to meeting different kinds of people,” Burnell told WAJR Radio News.
Broadview Heights, Ohio-native Cassidy Benco, another freshman, is majoring in criminology. She said she’s still settling in.
“I still kind of feel like I’m in the hotel phase but it has been really nice. I love the campus so much, it’s really gorgeous,” she said.
