The Nile debuted in 1924 as an Egyptian-themed movie palace. But it didn’t become a concert hotspot until 1994, when punk, hip-hop and goth/industrial shows took over the place. Notable acts like Marilyn Manson, Swingin’ Utters and a then-unknown Blink-182 all played here as the Nile thrived.
Then came the dark days when violent crime and illegal drug use tied to gigs forced the venue’s closure in the early 2000s.
