Over the past couple of days, Colorado Springs police and the FBI have been combing through the landscape of Teller County for the remains of a local woman murdered by her husband in 2019.
Dane Kallungi was found guilty by a jury in 2023 for killing his wife, Jepsy Kallungi. Her body was never found. The prosecution alleged throughout the trial that Dane Kallungi strangled and killed her, then hid her body in Teller County, based on a conversation he had with the lead investigator of the case, in which Dane Kallungi said Jepsy Kallungi's remains were somewhere in Teller County.
Two years after the trial, law enforcement is back searching for her body after receiving "credible leads" related to the investigation, according to Caitlin Ford, a spokesperson from the Colorado Springs Police
