Minnesota’s minimum wage will climb 28 cents in the new year.
The State Department of Labor and Industry announced Wednesday that Minnesota’s minimum-wage rate for all employers will be adjusted for inflation to $11.41.
The changes will take effect on January 1, 2026, and represents a 2.51% increase on the current state minimum wage in Minnesota, which sits at $11.13 per hour.
Teenage workers will see an 2.5% increase in their 90-day training wages to $9.31.
The cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul both have minimum-wage ordinances in effect. There’s a required minimum wage of $15.97 in Minneapolis and $15 an hour for small businesses and $15.97 for larger businesses in St. Paul.
According to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released in July, the Twin Cities metro has seen
