DENVER (KDVR) — The U.S. 85 Corridor Improvements project in Douglas County, which began construction in 2022, has been completed ahead of schedule.

The county said in a press release on Wednesday, the board of Douglas County commissioners is expected to gather with the community to celebrate and "mark a major milestone in Douglas County."

The project's construction was aimed at creating improvements to U.S. 85 from Highlands Ranch Parkway to C-470, including widening the highway with additional lanes and continuous flow intersections.

The project started in October 2022, and funding for the project included federal funds and contributions from the Colorado Department of Transportation, Douglas County and developers in the Chatfield Basin, said the county on its website.
