DENVER (KDVR) — Denver's temperatures will vie for the record of 99 degrees on Thursday, prompting district officials to cancel classes and issue early releases for over a dozen schools.

This comes as Denver Public Schools works to add air conditioning to all of its buildings by 2028. Two schools — Doull Elementary and Ellis Elementary — had AC installed before class began this month, but there are still 27 schools that need AC installations.

Here's where students will not have class on Thursday, or will be subject to early release: • No school Steck Elementary Brown Elementary Park Hill Elementary Bradley International School Asbury Elementary McMeen Elementary Lincoln Elementary Edison Elementary Skinner Middle School Bear Valley Middle School University Park Elementary Vista Academy
