COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A homicide investigation is underway after a body was found Tuesday near Macon Road in Columbus.

According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, the victim has been identified as 66-year-old Edwin Grier. Grier was officially pronounced dead at 5:28 p.m.

Grier’s body was found in the 3000 block of Macon Road in an abandoned warehouse, Bryan said.

According to him, Grier suffered blunt force trauma to the head. His body is being sent for an autopsy.

No word yet on whether there are any suspects. Bryan said that Columbus police are investigating.
