INWOOD -- Every Friday night, Charles and Lucy Brewer and their daughters, Makenzie and Makayla, can be found at New Life Community Church, helping with the Recovery Alive! program.

For the Gerrardstown residents, helping with this program has been a way for them to give back and ensure other families, like them, find a new, healthier path.

"It's a great program - it actually works, but you have to actually want to do it," Charles said. "I got 10 years sober from alcohol and drugs in a program like this. I was going to lose my family and everything I had. To have my family there to support me through that process was a real game changer."
