The New Orleans mayor and her former security officer are set to enter pleas in a federal case next month.

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell and former New Orleans Police Department officer Jeffrey Vappie were indicted Friday. Advertisement

Cantrell is facing charges of conspiracy, wire fraud, conspiracy to obstruct justice, false statements, obstruction of justice and false declaration before a grand jury.

Vappie is facing charges of wire fraud and making false statements.

Both are set to be arraigned in federal court on Sept. 10 at 2 p.m.

They are expected to enter pleas in connection with the recent indictment.
