Mike Tomlin confirmed that four of his stars will not play against the Carolina Panthers in the final preseason game for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Among those names is Aaron Rodgers.

“As far as playtime, there’s really four guys that I’m not considering playing. Cam Heyward, T.J. Watt, Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf. Everyone else is under consideration. They’re preparing as if they’re going to play. All healthy outside of the four that I mentioned are preparing and scheduled to play.”

Tomlin’s decision has sparked major controversy since Rodgers is 41 years old and hasn’t taken a single snap with the Steelers in a new offensive scheme led by Arthur Smith.
