BOX ELDER COUNTY — The Box Elder County Sheriff's deputy who survived a shooting that killed two officers has made his first public comments since his release from the hospital.

In a social media post early Wednesday morning, Deputy Mike Allred said, "My heart breaks for the loss of my two Brothers, my friends. There is no doubt in my mind that they would do the same for me!!"

Allred and his K-9, Azula, were among the officers who immediately responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a home near 700 North and 200 East in Tremonton. They were shot and injured by gunfire, while still in their patrol vehicle.
