SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI)-- San Diego FC announced on Wednesday that the organization acquired defender Leo Duru on loan from the Blackburn Rovers FC of the English Football League (EFL).

Duru is on loan through June 2026 and has a purchase option.

According to a press release from San Diego FC officials, the 20-year-old defender will be added to the roster pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate.

“We’re happy to welcome Leo to San Diego,” SDFC Sporting Director Tyler Heaps said in a press release. “He’s a player we have been monitoring for many months and is a defender with exceptional physical attributes that can also play further forward."
