YPSILANTI TWP., MI — Protesters opposed to data centers for federal government and university research into artificial intelligence intimidated some local elected officials and their families by showing up to their homes beating drums Saturday, Aug. 16, township leaders said.

On Tuesday, Aug. 19, Ypsilanti Township officials and their attorney issued stern warnings to the unidentified protesters opposed to the University of Michigan’s partnership with Los Alamos National Laboratory plan for a data center campus for classified and non-classified research in AI, energy, national security, and other sciences.
