SAN ANTONIO — A 52-year-old San Antonio man could be sentenced to five years in prison after federal officials say he pleaded guilty to threatening President Donald Trump ahead of a recent visit to Texas.

Trump came to the Hill Country on July 11 to meet with local leaders in the aftermath of the deadly Independence Day flooding . On July 10, authorities said, Robert Herrera commented on a news outlet's Facebook post about the impending visit, writing "I won't miss" alongside a photo of Trump being taken off the stage in Butler, Pennsylvania, immediately following an assassination attempt last year.

The fact that a shooter was able to get so close to the former president while he's supposed to be closely guarded has raised questions about security plans.
