BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man with six warrants was arrested after a stolen vehicle pursuit through Kern County.

Rolando Javier Chavez Ortiz, 39, was arrested under suspicion of felony evading, felony vandalism, possession of a stolen vehicle, and resisting arrest, according to Shafter police.

Chavez Ortiz allegedly led officers on a chase through parts of Shafter and Bakersfield in a stolen Ford dump truck. The pursuit began at about 11:10 p.m. in Shafter.

After officers initiated a traffic stop and the driver fled, the Kern County Sheriff's Office, Wasco police officers, and California Highway Patrol responded to assist.
