MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - A security guard who police say was involved in a shootout at a Parkway Village apartment complex early Tuesday morning is now charged.

Erio Watkins, 36, is charged with aggravated assault. Shelby County Court records show that he was booked Tuesday and quickly released on a $30,000 bond.

According to Memphis police, Watkins and another on-duty guard with All Secure Security were attempting to detain an alleged trespasser when shots rang out in the Twin Oaks Apartment Complex around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The security guards told police that the man was on the property after hours and confronted him. They then escorted him to what he said was a friend’s apartment where he was staying, but the resident shut the door on the trio after security knocked on the door.
