KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — A 46-year-old Knoxville man will serve a 10-year sentence after he drunkenly hit two people while they were crossing North Broadway in 2022, according to District Attorney Charme Allen.

Kenyan Roshad Warren killed one person and hurt another, leaving him with a skull fracture that exposed part of his brain, Allen said.

Officers with the Knoxville Police Department said they saw Warren throw a beer can under his car after the crash. He smelled of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and was unsteady on his feet, Allen said.

Witnesses told police that before they arrived, Warren walked over to one of the victims, kicked her, and told her to get up. He then swore at her and tried to drag her out of the road, Allen said.
