KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knox Area Rescue Ministries Care Center has been providing services for five years. With its expansion, the Center will have a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Physician Assistant on site Monday through Friday.

The clinic was created to serve people experiencing homelessness in the area along North Broadway, known as the "Mission District," and those staying at KARM.

Jerry Harnish is the director of operations for Global Medical Response, the company that operates AMR and Lifeguard Ambulance. He said they got over 250 calls for service in the district in May. Harnish said that number is common with the trend they see.
