EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — While road construction seems to slow the rest of us down, it hasn’t stopped first responders.
Evansville-Vanderburgh Central Dispatch says road construction hasn’t affected response times so far this year. But that’s due to communication and planning.
Carrie James, Director at Evansville-Vanderburgh Central Dispatch, says they usually get a two-week notice for what’s closing down and when. “I send it out to everybody here at Dispatch, so everybody’s on the same page,” James says.
Next, dispatchers will throw the closure in their CAD System, which is a specialized software used by authorities to manage the process of receiving and responding to calls. The closure will pop up in the system as a notification to the fire department and the police department.
