Indiana State Troopers sprang into action at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday, saving a teenage girl who was choking.

Trooper Vincent Scott from the ISP-Versailles District and Trooper Ryan Hale from the ISP-Fort Wayne District were on foot patrol when they noticed a 14-year-old girl struggling to breathe after taking a drink from a lemon shakeup.

Scott performed abdominal thrusts, often called the Heimlich maneuver, dislodging an object from the girl's throat after three attempts.

While Scott assisted the girl, Hale called for on-site EMS. The girl was taken to the fairgrounds' medical facilities and is expected to make a full recovery.
