A vigil intended to spread awareness of missing Rehoboth teenager Kylee Monteiro is still expected to happen on Saturday, after police found human remains believed to be hers.

Planned to be held at 401 Winthrop St. at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, the vigil was to be held to spread awareness of the 18-year-old woman’s disappearance, her sister Faith Monteiro posted on Facebook.

Faith Monteiro and her sister, Catherine Monteiro, confirmed to MassLive that the vigil was still planned for Friday. Although they confirmed over Facebook that the vigil will still happen, they declined to comment further.

Monteiro’s boyfriend, Gregory Groom, 22, first reported her missing on Aug. 8, a day after prosecutors say he killed her and buried her body on his property. Rehoboth police searched for her
