A clumsy fox had a " very bad day " when he managed to get his leg stuck and was left dangling from a letterbox.
The animal was rescued by South Essex Wildlife Hospital which said it had 'no idea' how he ended up in such a precarious position.
The fox was released by Liam Clement, 16, while on his paper round but it then became stuck between a fence and a wall while trying to escape in Hadleigh, Essex.
Rescuers managed to carefully wiggle him back out of the gap and he was taken to the animal hospital, where he was found to have ligament damage and fractures.
The male fox had the damaged ligaments sutured back together and his leg put into a splint.
