BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) – Prosecutors have charged the man who threatened bank employees with a bomb on Tuesday in downtown Bismarck.
Robert Wayne Walsh, 51, faces two felony counts of terrorizing with a dangerous weapon and threatening an adult victim.
According to court records, Walsh, who was wearing a backpack, walked into the Bravera Bank on the corner of 4th Street and Rosser Avenue and made a bomb threat to a bank employee.
“Ma’am, I’m not sure what you want to do, but I’m going to detonate this bomb inside of my backpack,” he told the employee, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit states he told another employee he would not detonate the bomb “if you call the cops and they come in here and shoot me.”
Walsh left the building after talking to a negotiator by phone, and
