BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - The 2025 season brings a new look for the South Border Mustangs, who will be transitioning to Region One in nine-man football. The Mustangs were previously in region four, which featured more teams from the western half of the state.

“I would say the whole vibe is just pure excitement,” Mustangs’ Head Coach Evan Mellmer said. “A lot of new challenges this year with being in that new region. A lot of unknowns, but we’re excited and we’re happy to be out playing football again.“

Other teams in Region One include the following: Enderlin, Griggs-Midkota, Hankinson, Hatton-Northwood, LaMoure-Litchville-Marion, Maple River, Richland, Tri-State and Wyndmere-Lidgerwood.
