FARGO — A Moorhead man accused of embezzling more than $68,000 from the West Fargo Hockey Association last year pleaded guilty to a single felony theft charge and was sentenced earlier this week.

Steven Lyon, 44, was the association's bingo manager and the No. 3 person in charge of gaming operations for the organization. As part of his job, he was also responsible for counting the proceeds from electronic pull tabs then depositing the money, which was used to support the group's youth hockey activities, including efforts to build a third sheet of ice at Veterans Memorial Arena in West Fargo.
