FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Fayetteville City Council voted to table the proposed renters' council at its meeting on Aug. 19.

A spokesperson with the city says the council voted unanimously to table the council.

“Renters make up a significant portion of Fayetteville’s population, and their voices deserve to be at the table when we talk about housing policy," Mayor Molly Rawn said. "I support the intent behind this proposal and believe that with the addition of our new housing officer, we’ll be in an even stronger position to design a committee structure that ensures renters’ perspectives are heard and inform actionable outcomes for our city.”
